Citadel, St Helens

October 8, 2012
So since the last time I updates this part of my website I've done a few things at The Citadel; Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde which was a great touring show done by The Hull Truck Theatre Company, A Christmas Carol done by the community group and most recently Gods Official done by Reform Theatre.

I will also be interpreting 1984 on 2/5/13. So please check out the Citadel website for more information and to book a ticket.

Well after doing a fairly succussful show at the Citadel as part of the DADA festiveal (Church of the 80% Sincerity) it seems I made a good impression on both audience members and staff alike as they have now asked me to become their resident terp! Well chuffed!!!

So, after meeting the lovely Rachel who attended the show she asked Faye, CEO, if they could 'have me for their Christmas Show' and it seems that request has been upheld, so I am now interpreting the Citadel's 'A Christmas Carol' on 13/12/12 @ 1930 see www.citadel.org.uk for more details and to book a ticket..

Royal Exchange

September 10, 2012
23/11/12 see's me interpreting the performance of Orpheus Descending, that Williams' classic...

In a small town in the Deep South of America nothing ever seems to change.

That is, until one day, a charismatic young drifter appears with a snakeskin jacket and a guitar. Like a fox in a hen coop, this wild eyed boy tears up the prejudices and certainties of the town, igniting the passion of Lady Torrance, who for years has been trapped in a loveless marriage. But their freedom and love is too much for such a narrow-minded community…

This major revival of Tennessee Williams’ classic drama about the power of imagination and love in the face of conformity, stars Imogen Stubbs and is directed by Sarah Frankcom, whose recent award-winning successes at the Exchange include PUNK ROCK, A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, BEAUTIFUL THING, and MISS JULIE.

BSL Interpreting provided by DADA...

Henry V @ the Globe, London

June 28, 2012
There are still some tickets left for the BSL interpreted performance this Sunday, have a look at shakespeareglobe.com for more details and to book your ticket. Jan will be interpreting this and she is still in the midst of rehearsals and costume fittings. It will be a momentous occasion for her as if you know Jan you will know that Shakespeare is her 'thing' (ask her to see her tattoo in memory of Shakespeare next time you see her), and she is a bag of mixed emotions; nerves, excitement and others that don't seem to have names :-)

There are further plays that she is interpreting that have been listed on here, if you want to come along she will love the support, and you never know you may enjoy Shakespeare!

The Globe, London

June 16, 2012
Jan Guest, my good friend and colleague will be treading the boards of the famous Globe Theatre in London. She hasn't taken on a new career but she is fulfilling a life long ambition to interpret Shakespeare in this most prestigious of venues. Working for Theatresign Jan will be interpreting:

July 1st Henry V

July 21st Taming of the Shrew

September 2nd Richard III

The Globe recently saw Deafinitely Theatre perform a ground breaking production of Love's Labours Lost entirely in BSL. Unfortunately I didn't get to see this amazing performance but word on the grapevine was that it was truly marvellous!
